I grew up in Cape Elizabeth Maine, graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in Speech Pathology and moved to Boston upon graduation to explore other opportunities. I joined R.M. Bradley in the commercial division, became licensed and worked as a site selector for a company specializing in finding sites for franchises around New England. I then joined the Stride Rite Corporation real estate division and choreographed their move to a new corporate headquarters in Cambridge. It seemed appropriate to move into residential sales in Cambridge which I did for the next 8 years. Maine beckoned in 1994 and I joined Coldwell Banker as Relocation Director and built a successful department working with many corporate clients to assist their employees arriving or departing the area. After a successful career in the Chicago retail market, I decided that it was time to follow my dream and move to Maine. A part of that vision was to own a Bed and Breakfast Inn. It was 1984 and "The Bob Newhart Syndrome” or “Wow! Wouldn’t it be fun to run an Inn just like Bob?” was in full effect.

For me the reality of running an Inn set in very quickly. It was a lot of fun, but it was also a business. Fortunately for me, for the most part it was a very successful business. Over the next 12 years I found myself owning five B&B properties. All of the properties were located on Mt. Desert Island, Maine. Two were in Southwest Harbor and three in Bar Harbor – including my most successful venture, the Inn at Canoe Point.

During this time, I was also involved in local activities: President of the Southwest Harbor Chamber of Commerce, President of the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce (3 years), member and Chairman of the Maine Tourism Commission, President of the local Innkeeper’s Group, and also an active participant in both the Professional Association of Innkeepers and the Maine Innkeepers Association.

Throughout that 12-year period, I received more Inn experience than I could have possibly received by any other means. What were the positive and negative experiences of purchasing and running an Inn? This is exactly what I will impart to you from my experience. In 1991 my husband Ron and I moved back to the U.S. from Berlin, Germany, and started a search for what we planned to be our permanent home. Nothing truly inspired us until, in the summer of 1994, we visited a restoration of the former Fort McKinley on Great Diamond Island called Diamond Cove. The moment we stepped off the boat at Diamond Cove we knew it was what we had been searching for.
Soon after moving to Diamond Cove in 1996 I became the sales rep for the developers of the project and later, when the developers’ work was completed, I continued to handle re-sales as a licensed agent. In 2001 I had the good luck to co-broke a sale with Peter Thornton. We formed an affiliation that continues to this day, listing and selling the vast majority of available Cove properties. My knowledge and enthusiasm for Diamond Cove and Peter’s long experience with the local real estate market gives our clients the best possible representation; professional, reliable and responsive yet comfortable and low key. And with the recent welcome addition of Pat Kirby to our group, the service will be seamless.
I have 3 daughters, a doctor, a lawyer and an airline pilot, great sons-in-law and 9 beautiful grandchildren. My love affair with Maine began with a summer job at a lobster pound on Wells Beach during my college years at Miami University of Ohio. I am originally from Chappaqua, NY. After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, I served 30 years as a naval officer and naval aviator, first living in Maine in 1976 while in squadrons at Naval Air Station Brunswick, returning to Maine for good in 1993. I began a real estate career in 1995, attaining the Broker, GRI, and Accredited Buyer Representative designations. I have specialized in Maine Waterfront homes and land, historic homes, and new construction. I am assisted by my wife Nancy, an Associate Broker who represents Buyers exclusively and is very adept at helping people find and purchase their Maine dream property. Together we have restored two antique homes in Bath, and in 2001 we built our present home on the ocean in Georgetown. I am a board member of the Georgetown Planning Board, the Indian Point Association, and the Bath Housing Development Corporation. I previously served on the boards of Sagadahoc Preservation Inc., the Merrymeeting Board of REALTORS®, and the Bath Rotary Club, of which I am past president.

I grew up in the Boston area and since the age of 5, spent summers at Goose Rocks Beach. I always felt Maine was home for me and in 1982, moved to Kennebunkport as a year round resident. My extensive knowledge of the local area, zoning and current market conditions gives me the leverage I need to serve my clients with the dedication and commitment they need and they deserve to make their real estate business a smooth and successful transaction. I pride myself in honest, straight-forward conversation with all my clients and believe my clients regard and respect that honest and responsive approach.

I currently serve as MSAD#71 School Board Director and have served as Kennebunkport Selectman 2001 – 2004 and budget board member from 1997 -2000, as well as, volunteer for Odyssey of the Mind and many school and community activities. I am a member of Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, Arundel Paddle Club, Kennebunk Portside Rotary and volunteer at Kennebunk High School and professional affiliations with York County Board of REALTORS®, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and Accredited Buyer Representative. I have 2 teenage daughters, Nicole, a senior at Kennebunk High School, looking forward to entering college in September and Valerie a sophomore at Kennebunk High School, both are active in field hockey. Outside of real estate I share my time with my partner Alan enjoying tennis, paddle tennis, boating & fishing and walking the beach with our dog, Maizy.
